SpinLab Group Named One of the World’s Top Innovation Ecosystems at SES Awards 2025

The SpinLab Group, consisting of SpinLab in Leipzig, RootCamp in Hanover, and ExciteLab in Dresden has been awarded with the “Startup Ecosystem Star Award 2025” (SES Award) in the category: Exceptional Industry Support. The award was presented during a ceremony at the headquarters of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris. The Startup Ecosystem Stars Awards are organized by the ICC and Mind the Bridge, in collaboration with the OECD and the European Commission, and supported by Microsoft. They are among the world’s most prestigious recognitions for organizations that measurably strengthen innovation ecosystems.

9 emerging hightech startups from Europe you should know: ExciteLab Batch 3

The third ExciteLab batch arrived in Dresden. Nine startups from fields including semiconductors, medical technology, energy, space, and robotics are presenting their solutions. Their solutions range from rechargeable printable batteries and nanopowders made from rare earths to autonomous underwater robots and a heavy-lift launch system for space. Other projects focus on endoscopy, 3D printing, and physiotherapy. Together, the teams reflect trends in Europe’s deep-tech scene: greater sustainability, reduced dependence on global supply chains, and an increased focus on data-driven processes.

ExciteLab Startup FaradaIC Sensors raises €4.5M seed funding

The round was led by JOIN CAPITAL, with support from Forma Prime, EIC - European Innovation Council, elev8.vc, Tiburon, Frontures and Atlantis Ventures, as well as other angel investors.The startup from ExciteLab batch 1 is developing a new generation of gas sensors that are built directly on microchips using solid-state materials, replacing traditional liquid-based components. This makes the sensors smaller, more energy-efficient and suitable for mass production using standard semiconductor processes.
